I'm facing this issue that I'm not able to solve by myself. Thanks in advanced for any help. Let me try to detail it as much as possible.
After one update that I cannot precise (I don't know where this error starts, since I don't log off quite often. I just realize it on the last one), login user is stuck on login process. Everything looks normal. I enter correctly my user and password. I'm sure there are no type errors. User is accepted, but immediately after, less than 1 second after, it fails back on prompting user authentication again.
I verified that user works and there is no typo errors since I see no errors related to user/pass not found.
Happens also on all Vm with same configuration and updates.
Here you have some info of my environment:
- Linux 6.1.0-32-arm64 #1 SMP Debian 6.1.129-1 (2025-03-06) aarch64 GNU/Linux
(also tried with newer and older kernel.. same issue)
VM machine running on VMware workstation.
User logs ok with X11 (LXDE), but not with GTK or Plasma.
Tried to remove ~/.Xauthority.. no luck (has not been recreated since I was not able to logon on GTK neither plasama)
Already reinstalled GTK and Plasma. Upgrades / Updates / reboots.. no luck.
Keyboard and mouse are ok.
I have other VMs with same configuration with same behavior.
Tried to reinstall VMware tools.
No Nvidia drivers on this setup as far as I saw.
