I am having a problem with certain keyboard keys sporadically not working. I'm using a Logitech wireless keyboard with the universal receiver dongle on Windows 10.
Specifically, the following keys sometimes do not produce any apparent response:
- Both Ctrl keys.
- The 0 key on the main keyboard.
- Enter and - on the numeric keypad.
Most of the time they all work, sometimes they all stop producing any response. When this happens, they all stop working, and they all resume working properly at the same time too.
This is on a laptop, and the corresponding keys on the built-in keyboard always work fine, including when the wireless keyboard keys are out.
I don't think it's just the key mechanisms wearing out or having some other mechanical issue or interference (e.g. some crumbs or other debris preventing them from being pressed fully) because it's always the same few keys, and either they all work or none of them work.
I almost wonder if there's something about the specific signal the keyboard sends to the receiver is susceptible to electromagnetic interference from something in my house, but this is just an absolute wild-assed guess because it doesn't seem to have any mechanical cause and I can't pinpoint any other commonalities among the times when the keys stop working.
