Bitcoin transactions are denominated in Satoshis on the blockchain - 1 Satoshi = 0.00000001 BTC
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Satoshi_(unit)
i.e. though wallets display transactions in fractional BTCs, the transactions itself are denominated in Satoshis on the blockchain.
Similarly what is the unit for Monero transactions - is it a Piconero? 1 Piconero = 0.000000000001 XMR
Though values themselves are never recorded in cleartext in Monero, some unit would be used while making the commitments?
If I am sending 1 XMR (i.e. 1000000000000 Piconero) would the transaction have a commitment of the value 1000000000000?
UPDATE on why the duplicate Q & A doesn't answer my question
This question has been closed as a duplicate of another question which doesn't answer my question at all.
I am not asking what is the smallest unit of Moneros which can be transacted. I am asking what unit is used to record transactions on the Monero Blockchain.
There is an obvious difference - for e.g. the smallest amount you can send may be one Piconero but if the unit used on the blockchain is Nanonero, then the transaction of 1 Piconero may be recorded on the blockchain at 0.001 Nanonero being sent.
i.e. the value committed - is it going to be "1" or "0.001" or something else.
