I was trying to run a monero node on my machine but didn't want to download the whole chain so I thought to use the Xmrig program. What am I doing wrong?
And I let it run for 16-18 hours daily then stops then again run the next day. Is this wrong?
These are two different things: monerod is the monero blockchain node, xmrig is mining software. monerod will download and keep updated the blockchain. xmrig will mine for new blocks. You cannot run a Monero node without downloading the blockchain.
