Is wownero pool-resistant and how does it work?

From what I gathered, pool-resistant mining seems to be nonexistant. Yet wownero does it, does it really do it to this day? How might pool-resistance be implemented in monero?

To mine with wownerod one has to run a command like this: wownerod --start-mining {YOUR-PRIMARY-ADDRESS} --spend-secret-key {SECRET-SPENDKEY} --mining-threads {NUMBER}

As you can see, technically you can mine in a pool but YOU CANNOT MINE IN A POOL WITHOUT GIVING IT YOUR PRIVATE KEY. BTCW seems to also implement this idea. People do not seem to trust mining pools enough to reveal to them their private keys, and so the pools do not form with coins such as wownero.
