This quote is just of my thinking when I was asleep one night:

The liberal arts of mathematics and of the language arts got divorced thousands of years ago.
But the thing that these have in common is that they are both complex. Mathematics is composed of a series of branches of statements that all have to some degree applied mathematics and pure mathematics. The art of language is composed of literary works that all have some degree of fiction and nonfiction. But how can we measure those degrees? Who knows what the unity of those two arts are?
