I'm rebuilding an old Ender 3 from parts, and am trying to set it up.
I have downloaded a calibration model from Thingieverse and opened it up with the latest version of Cura on Ubuntu.
I slice the file and export it as Gcode, and then load the Gcode onto an SD card.
Sometimes when I try to print the file it comes out in the center of the build plate at full size. Which is how it appears on screen in Cura.
Sometime it comes out about half size in the front left corner (0\0 position). Which isn't how it appears in Cura. When it does this, it doesn't print the brim. It prints at the absolute edge of the bed, so presumably the brim is off the side in an no-printing zone.
I do not know what it is that I'm going that is making it print the exact same file out in different ways.
This is only file that I'm trying to print. So I am not printing two separate files with different configurations.
I am making multiple changes to the printer configuration between prints, using the control panel (but always printing the same file), so one of these changes is likely the reason, but I don't know which one.
All of the changes that I'm making relate to homing\nozzle position, in an attempt to level the bed and get the right starting height.
Actions include:
Performing automatic homing on all three axis Performing automatic bed leveling with a CR Touch Performing remesh with a CR Touch Manually adjusting the Z Offset Manually tuning the probe X and Y offset values
I have confirmed that Cura has the the right bed dimensions.
I have tried both turning "Origin at Center" on and off in Cura. It should be off. Then re-slicing the file.
I have tried using another slicer (Bambu Studio), but it wouldn't get past he bed heating, so I went back to Cura.
